Hashtag

Hashtags do branding; basically, it is a way to start your own topic of conversation. It is a discovery tool that allows the users to find your hashtag, wheatear they follow you or not. The interesting part is, you can find a hashtag and see its all posts even when you are not following the particular user. It’s actually grouping mechanism where general public attracts towards a specific topic or issue. It is used mostly for subjects and not for proper nouns like people or places. It is represented by the number sign ”#”. You can put this before any word or phrase and can tell people that the topic is worth talking about. Instagram Tracks the hashtags you mention so it helps people to search and use it in their posts as well. You can create your own hashtag but remember do not put space between the words and it is also not case sensitive so you are free to use capital and small letters. Some popular hashtag of 2017- #love #instagood #me #tbt #followme #photooftheday #happy #tagforlikes #like4like #fashion and many more. This proves that Hashtags never die.

@name

The @name is used before the name of a person and not any other subject that is the improper noun. Through @name you try to get the attention of someone who might find what you are talking is important. When someone uses your @name it increases your chance of being noticed as you receive a notification in your “Notification” tab. You can also mention more than one user using their @name, and all those you mention will get a get a notification in their “Notification “ tab. These @name tags are not shown in your followers feed because you are sending a message to someone in person, Instagram assumes your conversation is not relevant to everybody so it only displays it to the concerned person.

Both @name and #Hashtag have their own importance so it’s good to use both so that you can increase engagement at your page
