The @name is used before the name of a person and not any other subject that is the improper noun. Through @name you try to get the attention of someone who might find what you are talking is important. When someone uses your @name it increases your chance of being noticed as you receive a notification in your “Notification” tab. You can also mention more than one user using their @name, and all those you mention will get a get a notification in their “Notification “ tab. These @name tags are not shown in your followers feed because you are sending a message to someone in person, Instagram assumes your conversation is not relevant to everybody so it only displays it to the concerned person.
